Chapter Tastings will be held at 6:30 pm the
second or third Friday of the month,
unless otherwise noted.

Monthly tasting fees are normally: $8 per person, $15 per couple, except as noted.

Friday, February 17th, 2012 at Total Wine Boca Park at 6:30 pm: We will meet at the Total Wine store in Summerlin's Boca Park shopping center. Address is: 730 S. Rampart Blvd., about 1/4 mile south of Summerlin Parkway. We've arranged a "Silver Private Tasting", conducted by the store, featuring a spread of 6 different "nice" Cabernet Sauvignons. Appetizers are welcome. We will have a raffle drawing. The Total Wine store will provide crackers and cheese and glassware and will handle the clean-up. All Las Vegas area AWS members are welcome. Non-AWS members may attend as guests up to 3 times. The fee for this tasting is $20 per person, payable at the checkout counter as you enter the store. Friday, January 20 at 6:30 pm: We will meet at the Total Wine store in Summerlin's Boca Park shopping center. Address is: 730 S. Rampart Blvd., about 1/4 mile south of Summerlin Parkway. Our program is "Back to Basics". Chapter Chair Tom Burt will conduct a blind tasting in conjunction with a review of the AWS scoring system. We'll warm up with a sparker and then be tasting 2 whites and 4 reds and attempting to identify the varietal and location. The 6 mystery wines will be selected from the best of 2011's tastings. Karen McDonal will augment the wine tasting with a blind tasting of cheeses. The tasting fee is $8 per person, $15 per couple, payable to the LVAWS Treasurer in the store's classroom, and includes 7 wines. Plan to bring an appetizer. We will have a door prize drawing and raffle drawings. The Total Wine store will provide glassware and will handle the clean-up. All Las Vegas area AWS members are welcome. Non-AWS members may attend as guests up to 3 times. Important! To qualify for free use of the classroom, we need a turnout of at least 12.
